My Story

Education built on experience.

I'm Makayla Aurelia — a licensed Full Specialist in the State of Florida. For seven years, I've lived and breathed this industry. I started like most do: eager, overwhelmed, and hungry to master a craft that seemed equal parts art and science.

What I learned along the way is that this industry doesn't reward shortcuts. It rewards understanding. The technicians who thrive aren't the ones who memorize trends — they're the ones who understand the chemistry, the structure, and the business behind every set they create.

Three years ago, I stepped into teaching because I realized something: knowledge hoarded is knowledge wasted. I wanted to build the foundation I wish I'd had when I started — one that doesn't just teach you what to do, but why it works.

My love is making sure my students are taken care of and have a great foundation for their future. That's not a tagline — it's the lens through which every curriculum decision and every 1-on-1 mentorship is designed.

A lifetime of watching my parents be entrepreneurs taught me more about the do's and don'ts of business than any classroom ever could. I bring that real-world, lived experience directly to this community.

With 1-on-1 mentorships, there isn't anyplace that we can't go.

The Journey

How we got here.

The Beginning

Watching Entrepreneurs

I grew up watching my parents build businesses from the ground up. I absorbed the do's and don'ts before I even understood what they meant — the grit, the late nights, the calculated risks, and the resilience it takes to build something that lasts.

7 Years In

Living & Breathing the Industry

For over seven years, I've worked behind the chair as a licensed Full Specialist in the State of Florida. I've seen trends come and go, products evolve, and the industry transform. I learned through repetition, through failure, and through an obsessive desire to understand the 'why' behind everything.

The Shift to Teaching

After years of being asked for advice, guidance, and training, I stepped into education. Not because I had run out of things to learn — but because I realized that knowledge hoarded is knowledge wasted. I wanted to build the foundation I wish I'd had when I started.

Today

Building Aurelia Noir Education

Now I'm building Aurelia Noir Education, combining a lifetime of real-world entrepreneurial wisdom with everything I've learned behind the chair. Every course and every 1-on-1 mentorship is built on the intersection of science, artistry, and business.

Teaching Philosophy

How I teach.

Chemistry Before Technique

You can't master what you don't understand. Every product decision, every cure time, every adhesion choice — it's all chemistry. I teach from the molecular level up so you're never guessing.

Foundation Before Flash

Trends fade. Fundamentals compound. I'd rather you nail one structural apex perfectly than attempt ten trendy designs without understanding why they hold — or why they fail.

Business Alongside Artistry

Being a great technician isn't enough to build a career. Pricing, client retention, boundaries, branding — these aren't afterthoughts here. They're woven into the curriculum.

What I Stand For

More than technique.

Student-First Always

Making sure every student is taken care of and has a great foundation for their future is at the heart of everything I do. Your success is the metric — not enrollment numbers, not completion rates, but whether you leave here genuinely prepared.

Real Business Wisdom

A lifetime of watching my parents be entrepreneurs taught me the do's and don'ts that textbooks never will. I bring the unfiltered, lived experience of what it actually takes to build and sustain a business in this industry.

Mentorship That Matters

1-on-1 mentorships mean there's no place we can't go together. This isn't a one-way content dump — it's a relationship built on your growth, your questions, and your goals.
